Last hurrah...

With Stephen/Daddy going back to school next week it was a good idea to escape from our busy world and head somewhere fun for the day, before the weekend weather gets yucky. On Friday, Stephen had been to this great spot in Middletown, RI (Norman Bird Sanctuary) and he suggested that we pack a lunch and revisit this neat spot. We had a blast and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. Zac loved seeing so many cool things - especially the toad that kept hopping - we captured him on video just laughing and laughing. So fun! It was perfect weather (a bit overcast, but no precipitation) and cool enough to be comfortable. I'm already looking forward to doing this again, perhaps in the spring.

More fun...

Learning how to pull up to standing...

So this posting has a combination of adventures ...

I'm going a bit backwards here, but would regret not documenting a wonderful long weekend on Nantucket with Megan, Caroline, Grace, Zac and myself. We had such a nice time and Zac learned how to pull himself up to the standing position. Very exciting! He has obviously grown quite a bit of hair since these pictures were taken, he's a big boy now. He absolutely loves the girls and wants to be just like them. Thanks Maureen and Garry for opening up your home for all of us - we had so much fun!!!

Later this summer we visited Keith and Angela at their beach cottage in Narragansett - what a blast. The boys chased eachother around (crawling) in the sand and in the shallow water. If we let them they would have kept crawling deeper and deeper into the water. It's so neat to see them interacting together. It won't be long and they'll be running around - yikes! Thanks Keith and Ang for inviting us!

Lots of fun this summer...

We have had lots of fun this summer. Here are a few pictures from our adventures and there are still more to upload - I won't bore you with all of them.

Well...Zac is going to be 14 months this week and his 1st birthday party pictures are just now getting posted. It's been a busy few months for sure. Most importantly, we have been enjoying so much time together as a family. Daddy will be heading back to school this week so thought it might be important to update the blog before we start, yet, another chapter in the carrolla household (year 2 of grad school!)

The birthday party weekend was a blast. We were able to see many of our relatives and friends all in the same 48-hour span...pretty cool! For those that we didn't get to see, you were there in spirit. :)

We have some other pictures to post from the last few months, but I'm thinking we should get these posted first...before I get too ahead of myself. I wish we had captured all of the children from the party as there were many...oh well, everyone seemed to have fun.

Hope everyone has had an amazing summer! We sure have and we are still enjoying the beautiful weather, trips to the beach, park, ice cream shop and other fun hot spots in the area.

Did someone say cupcakes?!?!

As you can see from the pictures below, my 1st birthday was a huge success. It involved food...need I say more? Mommy made cupcakes for me to bring to school and then we had another cupcake after dinner tonight. I loved the frosting except that it got stuck in my nose. The rest of the pics are random from the last few weeks. You'll notice that many of them are taken in the highchair. We are still figuring out our new camera and this is the only opportunity to catch Zac sitting still.

I LOVE MY BIRTHDAY!!!

Please clap - it's my birthday!

Planning a meal for Father's Day with all the cookbook and cooking magazines...

A big boy heading out for the afternoon of Father's Day...

We had such a nice day as a family. We spent the morning in our pj's reading books, singing songs, playing music on the table and getting into anything we possibly could before getting caught!!! I've found the dog bowl(s) and I love to splash water all over - it's funny as is everything else I do. I like to laugh a lot...Mommy and I took Daddy to a cool bakery in Jamestown, RI the afternoon of Father's Day - we enjoyed homemade pizzas from a brick oven. This place was so cool. Daddy brought a few beers and we had a little picnic outside - it was nice to do something different and we got to explore a quaint little town on the shore. We all slept well that night! I love you Daddy, thanks for being you!
